2017 Raid French Alps
Thank you for taking the next step in raising funds and awareness for Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) through the Raid French Alps.
Cancer changes a child’s life. So does Camp. So will you!
About Raid French Alps
On July 2nd, 22 members of the Morning Glory Cycling Club, a Toronto based community bicycle club, will set off on a 6 day, 850 KMS, 80,000 vertical foot adventure by bike through the French Alps in support of Camp Ooch. Camp Ooch is a privately funded, volunteer-based organization that provides kids with and affected by childhood cancer with unique opportunities for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.
Our goal is to raise $60,000 so that children with and affected by childhood cancer can get back to what they need most - the chance to be a kid! - this summer during an overnight camp session at Ooch Muskoka. Camp Ooch is the only overnight camp in Canada equipped to provide onsite IV chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, central line care and other special oncology work. Each summer, 500 campers ages 6-18 attend Ooch Muskoka for two week sessions at no cost to their families.
More than a summer camp, Camp Ooch is a year-round support system for Ontario families affected by childhood cancer. Camp Ooch helps children and their families get through one of the most trying times of their lives with a full scope of program offerings, including Ooch Muskoka (overnight camp), In-Hospital Programs (offered at SickKids, McMaster Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, & other hospitals across Ontario), Ooch Downtown (urban recreation centre), and the Leadership Program for teens.
Kilometer for kilometer, dollar for dollar, this group of 22 great friends will laugh, cry, suffer, doubt, question, smile, and embrace life over these 6 days in the French Alps. Please give generously.
As a committed fundraiser you will be making a difference in the lives of children with and affected by childhood cancer. Kids like 16-year-old Maggie who say, “Camp Ooch is there when we need it most, it’s a place where we can grow, love and learn. Ooch is a place where we can express ourselves and not be judged or feel like we aren’t good enough. Ooch is there when we need a shoulder to lean on and where friends stay in our hearts forever.”
On behalf of kids like Maggie who will experience the friendship and fun of Camp Ooch because of your commitment to raising funds, thank you.
Because we have promises to keep.
